Chilham Bridal Real Bride- A Manor House Wedding In Somerset

We caught up with our bride Elizabeth to find out all about her wedding at St. Audries Park.

Elizabeth visited Chilham Bridal back in November 2023 with her mum and sister and I instantly really warmed to them all. We had such a lovely appointment and bride-to-be Liz fell in love with one particular dress but it would need altering down two or three dress sizes to fit her perfectly.

So she went to a few shops after us, to have a look around, but our Essense of Australia dress was still the firm favourite. In the background I checked with our seamstress that the dress would be ok to be altered down a few dress sizes, and once I had this confirmed by a professional, Elizabeth came back to re-try the dress and instantly knew it was ‘the one.’

It was great getting to know Liz and hear about her and Ashton’s story of getting together, so I had been looking forward to their wedding photos arriving in our inbox. And they certainly didn’t disappoint!

Elizabeth and Ashton tied the knot on the 31st May 2024 and their wedding at St. Audries Park in Somerset was nothing short of magical. The stunning manor house set the scene for a celebration filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

The couple, along with their closest family, made the most of the spectacular venue by staying in the luxurious lodges the night before. This made the wedding morning super relaxed, with plenty of time to soak in the excitement. Some of the bridal party even kicked things off with a quick dip in the hot tub before getting ready! Elizabeth opted to do her own makeup, and it was flawless—she looked absolutely stunning.

As the ceremony approached, the venue looked like something out of a fairy tale. The floral arrangements were breath-taking. And the sun even decided to shine for Liz, Ash and their guests to enjoy the beautiful outdoor setting.

One of the most memorable parts of the day was the music- which made everything feel so personal and special. Elizabeth’s niece, Emmie, sang beautifully as she walked down the aisle, while Ash’s brother played the guitar. Both also sang and played for the couple’s first dance. “We had the best day ever,” Liz shared. “The food was amazing, and it was so good to spend time with our friends and family to celebrate.”

Elizabeth’s dress was a total showstopper. She chose a stunning fit-and-flare gown from Essense of Australia in a unique mink colour, paired with a matching long mink coloured veil. She looked radiant and couldn’t have been happier with her choice.

Reflecting on her bridal shopping experience, Liz said, “Chilham Bridal was amazing! Carly made me feel so comfortable and knew exactly what would suit me. I did check out a few other shops, but nothing compared to my experience at Chilham. I loved my dress and would choose it all over again!”

From the emotional ceremony to the relaxed, joyful vibes throughout the day, Elizabeth and Ash’s wedding was everything they dreamed of. Here’s to a lifetime of love and happiness for the newlyweds—congratulations, Liz and Ashton!
